VAN BUREN 8 RIVERDALE 7 VAN BUREN – In a back and forth battle, Van Buren twice rallied to tie the game, then rallied a third time to win it in the bottom of the seventh and come away with an 8-7 BVC softball win over Riverdale. Jordan Patton was the winning pitcher for Van Buren, and helped her own cause with four base hits. Audrey Riegle drove in four runs with a single and a double, with Avery Beall (1B, 2B, RBI), Andrea Groman (2-1B) and Ava DeCooman (1B, 2B, RBI) also adding two hits in helping the Knights, 3-1 overall, stay unbeaten in BVC play at 2-0. Riverdale led 5-0, but Van Buren came back to tie the game 5-5, then 6-6. Hannah Vent, Dylann Thacker, Ava Manns and Carly Karcher all had two hits for Riverdale. Mackenzie Furr had a two-run double for the Falcons (3-3, 1-1 BVC).
