Fifth inning rallies were the ticket for Van Buren on Saturday when the Black Knights beat North Baltimore 13-3 in the first game and New Riegel 6-5 in the final game to win the Tony Lucadello Tournament this Saturday at Fostoria. Van Buren (9-6) led just 4-3 against North Baltimore, but blew things open with six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. In the championship game, the Black Knights trailed New Riegel 4-2 heading into the last half of the fifth inning before flipping the script with a four-run rally. New Riegel pulled within a run in the sixth inning, but Brayden Mason came on in relief of Brayden Gilts and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning to get the save. Blake Stutzman (2 RBI) and Will Rampe (2 Runs) had two hits each and Alex Homan, Brady Lance, Caleb Mason added RBI singles in the final game. Gabriel Pugh drove in three runs for New Riegel (6-6). Finn Martin and Caleb Mason both had two hits and Boston Miller added an RBI single in Van Buren's game-one win over North Baltimore. Brock Holloway and Drew Meggitt had two hits each for the Tigers. New Riegel beat Fostoria in its opening game, 6-2. Fostoria defeated North Baltimore, 10-4 in the consolation game.
