Brayden Gilts Throws Shutout As Van Buren Varsity Black Knights Defeat Lakota Varsity Raiders Brayden Gilts didn't allow a single run as the Van Buren Black Knights defeated the Lakota Raiders 8-0 on Saturday at Steller Field on BGSU campus. Gilts allowed just four hits. Van Buren Black Knights got on the board in the first inning after Brady Lance singled, scoring one run. Van Buren Black Knights added to their early lead in the bottom of the second inning after Carson Cripple singled to right field, and Alex Homan hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run. Hunter Sweeney took the loss for Lakota Raiders. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs (four earned) on three hits, striking out seven and walking five. Lance drove the middle of the lineup, leading Van Buren Black Knights with three runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Lance and Cripple each collected two hits for Black Knights. Brady Kern, AJ Gosche, Jack Widman, and Grant Scherger each collected one hit for Lakota Raiders. Van Buren will play Elmwood on Wednesday at Marathon Fields in Findlay at 4:30 PM
