The Van Buren Black Knights varsity golf team competed today in a talented field at the Walker Jones Invitational, hosted by Medina at Shale Creek Golf Club. The Black Knights finished 15th out of 18 teams with a team score of 328 against some of the top competition in the state. Jake Schroeder was outstanding from the opening tee, firing on all cylinders to post an even-par 72. Jake’s round was highlighted by steady play and impressive consistency throughout the day. Peyton Beilharz continued his strong season with a career-best 79—a tremendous milestone and a testament to the hard work he’s put in. Rounding out the team scoring were Andrew Hibbard with an 86 and Luke Grady with a 91.
