VAN BUREN -- Last week against Fostoria, Van Buren controlled the ball and the clock, but struggled to put the ball in the end zone. That wasn't a problem Friday against Arlington Cooper Hanna carried the ball 23 times, gained 273 yards and rushed for four touchdowns in the Black Knights' 55-12 win over the Red Devils. Hanna also threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Caleb Mason. Mason had a big night himself on the ground, with 109 yards on 11 carries. Haiden Orr and Lucas Steiner also ran for TDs for the Black Knight, who had 437 yards on the ground overall in improving to 2-0, 1-0 in the BVC. On defense for Van Buren, Mason forced two fumbles and had a tackle for a loss, while Boston Miller had a sack, and returned a fumble 25 yards to the end zone. Jacob Harrington added an interception. The Black Knights will host Pandora-Gilboa next week in another BVC contest. “We played very well up front tonight, our line did a heck of a job," said Van Buren coach Ethan Percer. “This week, we finished drives.” Arlington fell to 0-2, 0-1 in the BVC.
